Does HomeAgain meet ISO standards? Can the HomeAgain microchip be read by scanners outside the US?
The HomeAgain® microchip conforms to Annex A 2.1 of the ISO standard 11785.

Pets with HomeAgain microchips have been successfully entering countries in Europe and elsewhere without issue for many years.

Scanners that read the HomeAgain microchip have been distributed to many countries, however we do recommend that each individual traveling with a pet contact the consulate in the country of embarkation to confirm that a scanner is available that reads the 10 digit 125 kHz (also known as FECAVA) microchip.

If such a scanner is not available, you can obtain a free loaner scanner for your travel purposes by contacting Digital Angel Customer Service at 1-800-328-0118. Should you prefer to purchase a scanner please contact Schering-Plough Animal Health Customer Service at 1-800 521-5767.

The HomeAgain microchip can be read by all scanners distributed globally by Digital Angel Corporation (formerly known as Destron Fearing) to the following countries: Canada, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, UK, Europe, Iceland, UAE , Malaysia, Korea, China, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, India, Madagascar, Egypt, S. Africa and Morocco, Belgium and Grand Cayman, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands.

How can I update the contact information for my microchipped pet?

I adopted a pet, and it already has a HomeAgain microchip. How can I change the contact information?
To avoid disputes of ownership, HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service requires that the new Primary Contact provide with the pet's original Confirmation Letter. The new Primary Contact must fill out the area on the bottom of the confirmation letter and return it to HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service with a payment of $12.50. If you have lost the Confirmation Letter, and would like to request a Primary Contact Transfer Form please complete the Primary Transfer Request online or contact HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service directly at 1-866-PET-ID24 (1-866-738-4324). Upon receipt of the Transfer of Primary Contact request, please allow 10 business days for processing.

How can I get a replacement collar tag for my pet?
Replacement collar tags with your pet's unique HomeAgain ID number printed on it are available from the HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service. Please download the HomeAgain Replacement Collar Tag form or visit the HomeAgain Collar Tag Order section of the site. This link will allow you to create a user id and password, import your pet's enrollment, make changes and updates to your pet's record and order a collar tag online.

I am a pet owner or breeder and would like to buy microchips in bulk for my animals. What should I do?
We appreciate your interest in our HomeAgain microchips. Due to the prescription nature of most of our products, we sell directly to veterinarians only.

You can use our  Find A Vet locator, to find a participating veterinarian in your area.

I am a pet owner or breeder and would like to obtain a HomeAgain scanner. What should I do?
You can purchase a HomeAgain Pocket Reader directly from Schering-Plough Animal Health for $200 plus tax. This can be charged to a Visa or MasterCard, with no additional shipping or handling. The HomeAgain Pocket Readers read the HomeAgain microchips and identify the presence of other manufacturer's chips by displaying their name. It can not read the chip number of the others.

I'm with an animal shelter or animal rescue group and want to buy microchips and scanners. What should I do?
HomeAgain microchips can be purchased by veterinarians from Schering-Plough Animal Health, either through your sales representative or by contacting their customer service department. The HomeAgain Universal Scanners are available for $250.00 plus tax for animal shelters, humane societies, animal control agencies and rescue organizations. These scanners will read the chip numbers of other manufacturers, and can be paid for with a MasterCard or Visa at the time of the order. There are no additional charges for shipping.

Please e-mail, fax or mail your temporary contact information to HomeAgain and we will make the necessary notes in the database for contacting you during travel. Please include the dates during which you will be traveling.

I've lost my enrollment Confirmation Letter. How do I get another one?
To obtain a replacement Confirmation Letter, please complete our Confirmation Letter request form. A new letter will be mailed to you.

Do I have to renew my pet's enrollment in the Recovery Database?
No, the one-time enrollment fee is valid for the life of your pet.

How can I report a lost pet?
To report a lost pet, please call the HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service at 1-866-PET-ID24 (1-866-738-4324). Please have the pet's microchip identification number available.
